Working directly with a family of Shipibo Onaya (Masters and Maestras), the Sanctuary provides a place where one can connect more deeply with sacred Amazonian plants through traditional Sama (diet or plant diet).
The Sanctuary is located in the Peruvian Amazon along the Ucayali river, 6 hours by boat from the city of Pucallpa, and a 30 minute walk from the Shipibo village of Santa Rosa de Dinam arca. The traditional Shipibo plant diet is both an intensive and intensive process, typically spent in isolation and with strict food restrictions, in order to maximize the connection to the plants. At the Sanctuary, the recommended duration of a plant diet is at least 1 month, although it is possible to organize diets of less time (eg 2 weeks) if this is not possible. The plant diet is not a substitute for the deep healing and clearing process of a dedicated healing center or retreat. The Sanctuary is not a hospital but a place for deeper study and inner work. It is not recommended to those without prior experience working with plants. Sanctuary of the Shipibo Diet is proud to be 100% Shipibo-owned and operated.
