Canto Luz ( from Spanish canto – singing or a song; luz – light) is a project dedicated to environmentalism, preservation of ancient healing traditions and sustainable living.
We are located in the region of Madre de Dios in Peru, about 3 hours outside of the city Puerto Maldonado, off river Piedras.
Canto Luz ayahuasca retreat is situated on 1500 acres of primary rainforest and is home to many species of animals and plants in the most biodiverse region on the planet. The virgin rainforest around us is populated by tapirs, anteaters, wild boars, sloths, armadillos and many other animals, including even a Black Jaguar. Some of the trees around us are as old as 500 years old. When in Canto Luz, you truly are in the middle of alive forest!
We offer unique tree house living, as a way to re-connect with nature, Ayahuasca retreats, Shamanic Plants dietas; as well as provide volunteering opportunities and support local community by developing sustainability projects, actively participating in the movement to protect our region from destruction. We also host various research groups which take advantage of the virgin rainforest surrounding us.
By visiting Canto Luz, not only you can reconnect with inner self through the shamanic practices, but will also become part of the movement to preserve the largest rainforest on Earth.
