The Poverello of Assisi Retreat House is staffed by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.  In 1874 in Mexico City, the Reverend Father Refugio Morales, O.F.M., with the assistance of three young ladies founded a Congregation of Sisters under the title of Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.
